New Beginnings

As you all know we were house hunting. Unfortunately that came to an abrupt stop when I quit my job. There are many reasons to why I quit but really I am happy to have a new beginning. This is the first time in my life where I haven't had a "real" job. I have a few prospective things im looking into but im pretty sure some of them will stick better than others. I changed up the blog a bit and am happy to begin some better dedication to the site. Also, you will see more updates to the shop and maybe some other new things in the future. For now, there will be some slight changes. For those of you who do not follow us on instagram. We got engaged one 12-12-12. We probably should have posted it sooner but we are super happy and have been super busy. Ill begin school full time in the summer semester. Im excited and stressed for all these new things so I hope you guys can hang in there with me. For now, here are some great outfit posts for you!

PERSONAL >> The House

So as you all know we have been home searching. Its a super busy thing but we found one we adore. This morning we put in an offer and received an amazing counter offer! We accepted! Im very hopeful but trying not to get super excited because there is still the inspection and appraisal to go through. Since the home is much older its a little nerve wrecking. However, I wanted to show some sneak peeks of it!

Whatcha think? We are so in love! Its beautiful.

PERSONAL>> A Birthday fit for a future Pastor

So this past weekend was the 21st birthday party of my best-est family friend AKA "brother from another mother". Hes currently preparing and learning to be pastor! Im so very proud of him because hes a wonderful person and a great person to hear speak or to talk to! I honestly feel like this job was something that was completely set for him to do since day 1. So to surprise him for his 21st birthday, we all went to the family church{which is so lovely} and celebrated some good times, and good food, and even had a game of hide and seek in the dark! Enjoy!

Fun Right?!

It was a blast!

PERSONAL>> Our big life changes

So, I guess Ill never tell anyone im fat, I dont really like the word, but I have come to accept it, because honestly its just that, a word. Ive always wanted to lose a bit, but just for health reasons and family health history, because people..I love my body! Its fun at times, but a bummer at others, I've got the chest to fit into the pretty tops, but then other times a slinky dress isnt exactly flattering. However, I've come to live with this lovely self that I am.

Recently we were brought into the world of Weight Watchers, and let me begin with, and in no way or terms am I paid to write this post. So, with that said, approximately yesterday, we both began the weight watchers journey. I never realized the things I put into my body, and the multiple tastes and snacks that I ate without realizing it. I don't think I have the full picture yet, but after a long night of cooking last night, and measuring, and being careful,  I realized that those things were important for me to live a healthy lifestyle. I can still eat, by golly I CAN eat, but just smarter. Im not talking salads and nothing else all day people, Im talking REAL food!

So I hope you will all bear with us through this journey and help support this great decision we have made. Its really not a "weight" thing, but it is...weight is important and you cant be too overweight because of the health effects it takes on your body(short and long term).
So here is to us! I hope you all understand this journey and understand that I still wholeheartedly believe in "fat acceptance" and loving your body.

PERSONAL >> The vineyard

Hey guys! Im glad you guys all hung in there for our most recent adventure. My wisdom teeth surgery. Unfortunately all four of my teeth were impacted and I was forced to basically get all of them removed. Since we have many a weddings coming up, and lots of busy weekends ahead, I chose Labor Day weekend. Its been an adventure, but im feeling a ton better. The pain is settling in a bit more, and I thank you all for the wonderful sweet words of recovery wishes.

Recently we took an adventure with my family to a beautiful vineyard nearby and I haven't posted the pictures yet! SO here they are my lovelies! By the way, I know we have been doing alot of blog changes lately, I just cant seem to get my bearings on what I want and I think I may have perfected it a bit. I know its a huge change, but I like it.

So whaddya' think?! It was a blast! It was my mom and step dads anniversary so we went for dinner, and had a blast!

I hope you guys are having a wonderful Tuesday, its back to work for us!

PERSONAL >> Finding my own self love

This is something I don't do often. If you don't want to read something personal, please, don't go on. This morning I read an amazing post from Jes at The Militant Baker. As I read every line she wrote, my heart sunk. I had been there, I was that girl. Not many years ago I went through so many of the emotional trials with men and love that she had. Sometimes when you strengthen up and move on from these things it takes another persons story to make you realize how much you have prevailed. This is a short story of me; a girl that isn't skinny, isn't fat, is..well what I would call..an in-between-er. Rewind back to 2004. Art class. High school. Superficial. Where the need to fit in completely takes over you. I was sitting in art class and met this guy. He was funny, charming. I adored him. One problem. I was too busy dating a guy over 6 years older than me. Why? He liked me, he accepted me, he was OLDER. This guy, in art, we stayed friends. Hanging out with one another, me; exhausting all of my love and relationship problems on him, hoping for help. He was like me, and I didn't even know it. I was quite oblivious.

I wanted everything for someone to love me. Call it a daddy complex? I don't believe in those things though.  My father passed away the year before. No, I knew nothing of what should have been expected of a man. Years passed, I dated, had one night stands, etc, all to try and get someone to love me. The year of 2007 I married a man who I thought was the best. He was in some aspects. In others, not so much. We fought, he fought, I fought, he said things, about me, about my weight, continuously. Things like this hurt, and I mean hurt. We both said hurtful things. This ended shortly. Art guy, well, he stood by, dated others, but was there, whenever I needed him. Looking back, I regret being so blind. I dated others, many others, always thought I found the one, to find out I had not. Then, I decided to be alone. Ladies, and men, I cannot stress the importance of what this did to me, I found myself, enjoyed myself. Smiled. Loved my family and friends, and clung to them for support. Art guy, he had given up. Disappeared. I wasn't phased. It was when I was alone that I learned a very SMALL amount of self love. I found out who I was, I was a girl that LOVED vintage, retro, owls, jumping on beds, drinking a little too much with friends and screaming lovely songs, making forts, being a cat lady, not caring if I wore dresses from the 50's, and smiling.. all the time. Now, I tried dating again...only to be crushed by someone who really..well had some problems.

I know this about me finding self love, but this is a love story too. The most important love story of my life, the one that has changed me, and my life forever. Art guy posted something online. He wanted someone to walk with, my life was a mess, I needed a friend, I needed to release stress, he was so EASY to talk to. I was worried, since the last time we had talked, I had gained about 20 lbs. Since high school, I had gained about 40 lbs. We walked. I adored him once more. He told me he loved me one night, it was like a movie. He said that he would wait a million years to be with me, someone with the best personality ever, and the most beautiful girl ever. I loved him. The whole time. I was blind. What was I even thinking?!  He loved me the whole time...I didn't bat an eye. He was unconditional, I didn't turn my head to see him, or open my ears to listen to him. I was awful. But he loved me. Fast forward..2012..now. He tells me how beautiful I am, every night. Hes amazing. He supports every idea I have ever thought of. I sometimes put myself down, and he is always there to tell me why im wrong. Love comes in many forms. Self love is the strongest kind of love. Now, I will admit that Id like to lose weight because of the high risk of health problems that run in my family, but...I LOVE my body, no one has hips like these, or my butt, or chest...its my own, and for that im thankful. I have found the two biggest and best types of love ever, and I never want to let either go.
